Gregor Hildebrandt – In his artistic practice, Hildebrandt makes extensive use of pre-recorded cassette tapes as material in his pictures and installations. The tapes are applied directly onto canvases and photographic prints and in room-sized installations. If the contemplation of his art incorporates the heterogeneous cosmos of Gregor Hildebrandt’s references to music, film, literature and, last but not least, art history, his works turn out to be complex montages, in which pictorial associations from different spheres combine and interpenetrate.
Alicja Kwade is known internationally for sculpture, expansive public installation, film, photography and works on paper that challenge scientific and philosophical concepts by dismantling the boundaries of perception. Her distinctive artistic language involves reflection, repetition, and the deconstruction and reconstruction of everyday objects and natural materials in an effort to explore the essence of our reality and to examine social structures.
Riccardi Struzzi is the joint project of composer and video artist Christopher Marquez and painter and sculptor Christian Achenbach. Their interdisciplinary works negotiate the question of whether the image compositions and painterly rhythms need to give the respective sound scenes an artistic space. Compositional nous means that even when chopping up redundant source material, coming up with strong melodic imagery is inevitable. An artificial language is articulated: question and answer, high and low voices, polyglot speaking and interruptions, impulsive outbreaks and humor, charring and whispering. Giraffi Dog is known for releases on Aiwo, Warning, and underground anthem 351 Nation. This year he dropped an album on London’s Emotional, and another one on Berlin’s Kjoyu – and toured under his Kraut-moniker Max Weber.
Henry 3000 is known for his Ghetto Henry and Phyzikal Flex releases. Recently he released the Town & Country EP on Gush Collective.
Their DJ sets are packed with funky, feel-good energy. From breakdance to disco to acid to house and on through the multiverse, expect rhythm and groove.
Femalemacho is a concept Dj and finds unique sounds for different settings. Living in Berlin in the 90s, she has a deep connection to the club culture. Depending on the occasion, you will find a wide variety of styles in her sets. Serving music since 1998, Heike Suerman took the name from her favorite rave shirt and started to spin as Dj Femalemacho. Before that she organized house music parties in galleries and arty venues and founded a fashion label called Rosebud Rainbow Fashion. Heike co-founded the DMY Berlin Design Festival and toured with this format through Asia. She organized and played for the DMY Club Laboratory in Berlin, Tokyo, Seoul, Beijing and Hong Kong. In Berlin she played in Clubs like Bar 25, Kater Blau, Cookies, Monarch Bar, Picknick and Club 103.
Van Urrgh constists of Ivar van Urk on guitar, Andreas Schlaegel on drums and Manfred Peckl on the mic. On Party Arty vol.57 Van Urgh celebrates ist new album release. The record was produced by Alexander Hacke (Einstürzende Neubauten). Van Urrgh bring a mixture of noise rock, post punk, punk rock, elements of doom metal and dark shoegaze to the stage with the utmost urgency. Alarm!
